3 Quick Apply Full-time 10 hours ago Full Job Description Manager of Environmental Health and Safety SUMMARY The Corporate Safety Manager will be responsible for the continuous development and implementation of Safety Policies and Procedures.
The Corporate Safety Manager is ultimately responsible for having an effective workplace safety program and culture in place.
This position directs the resources and activities of the organization to support the safety programs and initiatives by providing advice and guidance to company management and senior management.
The primary challenge is to continually maintain an appropriate level of awareness, knowledge, and preparedness across the organization to create a culture that prioritizes effective safety, and balances overall associated costs.
Provide overall leadership, professional knowledge, and expertise in the administration and support of safety processes to comply with OSHA and other regulatory agencies organizational policies, and employee safety knowledge and awareness.
RESPONSIBILITIES Monitor and enforce compliance with all regulatory and company safety requirements.
Develop and maintain internal safety policies and procedures for all areas of the company.
Conduct hazard and risk assessments on all projects and oversee the implementation of safety measures on them.
Create a work environment which reflects a commitment to protecting the health and safety of employees and subcontractors.
Develop, implement, and document certification training programs for Project Managers, Supervisors, and Lead Men as applicable to their specific project requirements.
Develop, implement, and document safety training programs and materials for all employees to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of safety policies and procedures.
Manage the company's Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), and Safety Incentive initiatives.
Administer the company's Worker's Compensation Program.
This includes a focus on accident prevention, cost reduction, case management, return-to-work programs, and similar relative to work related illness and injuries.
Develop and maintain an aggressive accident investigation program.
This includes thorough investigation of all accidents, identification and root causes; development of effective programs to prevent recurrence, and company-wide communication and education on same.
Conduct regular on-site safety reviews and audits at job locations to ensure compliance with safe working operations as specified and required by OSHA as well as company safety policies and procedures.
Conduct monthly analysis of accident trends and develop new procedures and strategies to resolve safety issues.
Create and maintain a culture reflective of a commitment to an illness and injury-free workplace.
Provide monthly written reports to senior leadership on the Safety program's successes and challenges.
Maintain safety files and records, OSHA Logs, and Workers Compensation reports.
Stay abreast of current and emerging technical and professional aspects of this position.
Completed CSP certification required.
Company will pay for additional certification training as needed.
Weekly travel between our Maryland and Pennsylvania offices.
